About Me.
You Deserve to Feel Great. I’m Here to Help.
I’ve worked in the NHS since 2008 – starting as a healthcare assistant. Today, I’m proud to be a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with additional training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and PGDip in psychoanalytic observational studies from the Tavistock and Portman also. My work is deeply informed by evidence-based practice, but always grounded in humanity, compassion, and a belief that people can change – even in the most complex and enduring of situations. I have seen quite amazing change through therapy as well as inpatient stays in hospital.
My Background
A Grounded Approach, Built Over Years
I’ve spent nearly 20 years working across the mental health spectrum – from inpatient and community NHS services, to pupil referral units, special schools, and family support settings and specialist Autism and Intellectual Disbilities Services. These years gave me not only clinical experience but real insight into how life, trauma, relationships, and environment shape mental health. I’ve supported individuals facing acute crises, chronic mental illness, complex trauma, and everything in between.
But it’s through my work with three key groups that I’ve found my deepest sense of purpose:
Teenagers & Young Adults
Working with teenagers is something I’ve done for nearly 2 decades, across both clinical and educational settings. I’ve supported young people in special schools, pupil referral units, and CAMHS services – many of whom were struggling with low self-worth, anxiety, self-harm, family breakdowns, school avoidance and complex trauma.
I get how tough this stage of life can be – especially for those who feel different, misunderstood, or are still trying to make sense of who they are. My therapy offers safety, curiosity, and emotional validation, while using structured CBT and DBT-informed tools to support emotional regulation, confidence, and resilience.
I have worked inpatient, in therapy and online both virtually and in text therapy for crisis and therapy services. I have experience trying to engage young people in a way that works for them, while also being clear that safety and transparency is important to build a therapeutic relationship, even if this means negotiating sharing information with family when things feel tough. Confidentiality is of course part of thearpy, however, I always have safety and sensible parameters around my therapy space, encouraging the use of local services, A&E and referring to more specialist services if required.
Supporting parents in this journey with a young person who is struggling is also possible.
Neurodivergent Clients –
I have spent many years meeting young people, particularly women who have always felt different. I am expereinced and knowledgable at understanding the ways the world can be a challenge for those with neurodiversity and I have both recognised and supported many patients in their journey to discover a diagnosis and also understand themselves inside a world that makes sense to them. I work with clients with ADHD, autism, sensory processing differences, and overlapping mental health needs like anxiety, low mood, emotional dysregulation, and burnout.
Too often, neurodivergent individuals are misunderstood, misdiagnosed. My approach is person-centred, collaborative, and flexible, drawing from both CBT and DBT tools in a way that works with – not against – your natural wiring. Whether it’s managing overwhelm, improving self-understanding, or navigating identity in a neurotypical world, I offer space to explore and build tailored strategies that empower.

Perinatal Mothers –
Both during pregnancy and postpartum, life changes in so many ways. As a mother I understand the changes and have spent years learning more about both the body changes and how our mind may or may not adapt to the change as easily as Hollywood might lead you to believe.
